The Chief operating officer of Warri Wolves, Mr. Kenneth Nwaomucha has appealed to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to assist in mobilizing fans and supporters of the club from within and outside the state to attend the finals of the Federation Cup slated for Sunday, the 15th of September 2013 at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere Lagos State.
Mr. Kenneth Nwaomucha who made the appeal through the Executive Chairman Delta State Sports Commission, Mr. Pinnick Amaju yesterday while speaking with Nigerian Pilot noted that this is the first time a team from Delta State will reach the finals of the Federation Cup; hence he is making this clarion call to the number one citizen of the state.
The former strike ace stated: “I am using this medium to appeal to the state Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to assist us to mobilize Deltans from within and outside the state to come to Lagos to cheer their darling team to victory”.
According to him, “We have been inundated with calls from Deltans living in different parts of the country that they want to storm the finals in Lagos but they don’t have the means of transportation. The
club does not have the capacity to ferry them hence I am making this appeal to his Excellency the Governor of Delta state to provide luxury buses to mobilize our fans and supporters to Lagos.”
He however, called on corporate sponsors to assist the club in any way they deem fit to boost the team to victory, saying “this is the time we need their support.”
Furthermore, on the readiness of the team to lift the Federation Cup against former two times CAF Champions Enyimba football club of Aba, the former Flash Flamingoes FC. Of Benin and NNPC FC. Of Warri striker said: “We are fully prepared for this all important finals. The boys are rearing to go for the Cup. I have told them immediately we qualified for the finals that the trophy must come to Warri Wolves and they should go out there and get it for our amiable Governor who is the number one supporter of the club morally and financially for years without a trophy to dedicate to him. This is the only way to compensate him for making football and sports great in Delta state.”
Meanwhile, feelers from the camp of Warri Wolves said that the players are in high spirit and just waiting for the day to come.
In a phone chat with Monday Osagie, the defence ace said; “We are leaving no stone unturned to bring the trophy back to Warri. I will do my best with others in the rear to wade off attackers from our goal line while our attackers will do what they know best which is scoring.
We are a high scoring side and we promise the Governor that we won’t let him down”.
