All Progressive Congress, APC, Kwara State chapter yesterday described former Governor Bukola Saraki as a liability to the people of the statem, noting that it would not allow him entrance into the party.
The party in a statement signed by its chieftain, Rev. Bunmi Olusona, said: “Saraki who is talking of injustice under Bamanga Tukur leadership is himself a symbol of all forms of injustices, manipulation and corruption.
Saraki is more of a liability than a blessing here in Kwara, hence we advice leaders of APC to avoid him like a plaque, if he comes, more people are likely to leave the Party because he is the reason why thousands are leaving PDP to join APC in Kwara. We reject a situation where the entire Kwara PDP rigging machinery is brought into our great Party of change”.
On the aftermath of the Offa local government re-run election, APC noted that, “We believe that the PDP led government of Kwara State blatantly committed serious electoral fraud using the ever willing hands of the brazenly corrupt Uthman Ajidagba during the local government election re-run in Offa on August 31, 2013.”
It said: Dr Uthman Ajidagba by this infamous act has created a breach of public peace. The outcome of the fake election results declared in favour of his principal has led to series of daily protests all over Kwara State by members of the public who feels shortchanged. Offa has remained tense and public peace is under threat.
We in the APC believe that Ajidagba deserves to be arrested, prosecuted and jailed for putting Kwara on the edge.
“Ajidagba falsely declared PDP Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates winner when it
won only one Ward. The collated result of each of the 12 wards of the council showed that APC won in 11 wards while PDP won in one.
“The evidence before the world is that Mr. Afolabi O. Jimoh, a PDP councillorship candidate, in a rare show of integrity and piousness has disowned victory that Dr Ajidagba wrongly awarded him, thereby rendering the entire process a nullity.
“Ajidagba illegally performed the role of a returning officer when he was not assigned to do so. Ajidagba unlawfully announced the fake election results on Kwara radio when the results ought to have been announced at Offa where the re-run election held.
Ajidagba committed electoral infraction by announcing a result of over 56.000 voters exceeding the total voting strength of Offa people by 13,000. There are 500 ballot papers per polling unit. There are 86 polling units in Offa, which equals to 43,000
