Adamawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the country will hold Governor Murtala Nyako and his cohorts responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the country.
The State Secretary, Barrister Tahir Shehu who was reacting to Governor Nyako’s statement that the country may be plunged into ethnic and religious crisis if Nigerians do not rise to checkmate the excesses of the Peoples Democratic Party under President Goodluck Jonathan and Dr. Bamanga Tukur, revealed that apart from running the state with impunity, Governor Murtala Nyako and his cohorts are using religion to split the people.
“It is only Governor Murtala Nyako and his allies that are using religion to split the people. The President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur are believers of genuine peace. They believe in the peaceful co-existence of the country as exemplified in the present administration war against religious crisis.
“The leadership style of the President and Dr. Bamanga Tukur is devoid of impunity as claimed by the Adamawa State Governor. It is the State Governor that runs the state with impunity and that was largely responsible for the crisis in the state which led to the state of emergency on Adamawa” ,Barrister Shehu maintained.
On the statement also credited to Governor Nyako that no responsible politicians will remain in PDP which is being run in a dictatorial manner, the party wonder why Governor Nyako allowed “ irresponsible” politicians in the party as claimed to assist him to assume the office of Adamawa State Governor.
The Party observed that the decision of Governor Nyako to quit the PDP, should be seen as a blessing by all democrats. “ Alot of us have been praying for Governor Nyako who do not mean well for the party to leave the party because he is the one destroying the PDP. He has been enjoying undue benefits from the party. And, if he had not left the party, we would have been skeptical of our chances of winning elections. Now that he has left, the sky is our limit”, the party scribe said.
He added that Governor Nyako who could not win seven wards in his local government during the last polls, should not be seen as a threat to the party.
He described the sudden exit of the the Adamawa State Governor from the party as a way of escaping from the party’s gun powder which is about to explode on unfaithful members of the PDP, with the recent constitution of the party disciplinary committee headed by Dr. Umaru Dikko
