The Federal High Court sitting in new Adeoyo State Specialist Hospital presided over by Justice Abimbola Adejumo Obaseki yesterday sentenced the notorious drug dealer and leader of a drug cartel in Ibadan, Fatai Raimi to 15 years in jail .
Justice Adejumo Obaseki in his judgement declared that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, had proved the allegation of unlawful dealing in narcotic drug against the accused beyond doubt and thereby found the accused person as charged, and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
It was gathered that Raimi, also known as ‘He’s Coming,’ was arrested by officers of the NDLEA on June 24 around Born Photo area of Ibadan, after intelligence was received by NDLEA from a member of the public about his whereabouts. He was later arraigned by the agency on December 3.
Before Raimi was arrested, five members of the gang were arrested for possessing 44kg of marijuana which they claimed belonged to their leader.
He, however, escaped arrest and remained at large until he was apprehended in June.
While Sentencing Raimi, Justice Adejumo Obaseki said his term would be dated back to the time of his arrest on June 24.
