Nollywood actor and director, Fred Amata was recently honoured by organisers of the The Legends of Nollywood Awards for directing popular soap opera, Ripples.
Fred won himself the best director for the soap opera that ran from 1987 to 1991 and featured some of the Amata brothers as well as several notable actors and actresses.
He said: “A past came calling as The Legends of Nollywood Awards recognized my pre-Nollywood work as Director of Soap Opera Ripples.. 1987-1991… A much cherished honour, especially in de area of directing even though most remember more as an actor…Legends of Nollywood Award for best director in a soap opera… Ripples 1987 -1991 my years as director… long before the acclaimed start of Nollywood… I cherish this.”
