Kogi State government has said that the coming year holds so much hope for infrastructure development for the people of the state, if only they could collectively cooperate with the Capt Idris Wada-led administration.
The state deputy governor, Arch. Yomi Awoniyi stated this while briefing journalists at the First Baptist Church, Ileteju Mopa, in Mopamuro LGA, at the end of Christmas church service.
The deputy governor lauded the efforts of the present administration at completing all inherited projects, stressing that plans to kick off several new projects in the coming year had been solidly laid.
Awoniyi described the 2014 ‘budget of reality’ currently before the state House of Assembly as one that had the prospect to turn around the fortunes of the state, urging the lawmakers to speed up the passage to enable government to start the activities of the year in earnest.
While appealing to people of Mopa Muro LGA to key into the transformation agenda of the Wada administration, he lauded their positive contributions to the government in the year.
The deputy governor described the present administration as purposeful and focused, stressing that it is committed to meeting the targets it has set for itself.
In his sermon, Rev Joshua Ige called on the people to have a change of heart because of the gift of God to mankind.
The clergy man in this season called on the people to have a change of ways and attitude, saying God sees the heart of all.
He described virginity as exhibited by Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, as sign of purity, urging people to take salvation which Jesus Christ came to give as noble and the reason for his coming.
