Benue State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a final year female student of Economics Department of Benue State University Makurdi, Miss Joanna Adaku at Savannah Guest House, Wurukum, Makurdi, the state capital on the 2nd of January, 2014.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Daniel Ezeala, who disclosed this to Nigerian Pilot on phone, said the remains of the victim have been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Makurdi for post-mortem examination.
He however said nobody has so far been arrested in connection with the incident.
A receptionist at the guest house, Vershima Sulega disclosed that the diseased on the fateful day booked a room at N2, 000 for a night but later at 7pm when she went to check the room, she was found dead while alone.
According to Mr Sulega, the deceased did not lock the room but supported it with a cupboard.
Nigerian Pilot gathered that the police are still investigating the mysterious death of the student.
