Publisher of Delta Guide Newspaper, Dr. Prince Orhomonokpaye has raised the alarm that his life was been threatened.
Orhomonokpaye, in a statement said his life was in danger, following a trail on Sunday afternoon, February 16 by seven unknown gunmen to his residence with alleged plan to assassinate him.
He also alleged that those against his life could be same persons that masterminded his arrest some time ago over a report published in his newspaper, in March 2013 captioned, “A Lawmaker’s Wife insane”.
According to him “I called this World Press Conference to tell you that my life is in danger. Sometime in March 2013, when I published that a lawmaker’s wife is insane, since I published that report, they have allegedly vowed to assassinate me. And yesterday, I received a phone call with unknown number from some persons demanding to know my whereabout, after they have gone to look for me at my residence to allegedly kill me”.
He appealed to the Nigerian Police, Army, State Security Service, SSS, and other security agencies to urgently intervene to save his life, adding that the said lawmaker be held responsible should anything happens to him.
