Citizens of Plateau State have been called upon to consolidate on the peace that is presently been enjoyed in the state after years of sectarian crisis.
The member, representing Jos North/Bassa in the House of Representatives, Hon Suleiman Kwande, stated this yesterday while commissioning a police station he constructed for Kabong Community in Jos North LGA of the state.
Kwande, who said the project cost about six million naira, explained that the police station is one of his contributions to the safety of the people of his community
According to Mr. Kwande, the community made the request for a police outpost in the area when he visited them early this year.
He declared that apart from providing the structure for the police, he has constructed, donated and assisted his constituency with other social amenities.
Our correspondent also gathered that Kwande had earlier provided a similar gesture to other communities, and financially assisted 50 women of Kabong with soft loans to boost their petty trades.
Speaking earlier, the Divisional Police Officer [DPO] ‘A’ Division, Victor Dimkpa, who represented the Commissioner of Police in the state, urged Kabong community to cooperation with police to enable them serve them well.
In his address, district head of Laranto, Da Rwang Lomark, who spoke on behalf of the community, appreciated Kwande for the gesture done his subjects and urged other spirited individuals to emulate the lawmaker.
