Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido’s newly appointed special assistant on media, Adamu Muhammad Usman has solicited support and cooperation of journalist in the state.
He made this call yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Jigawa State correspondents chapel.
Usman stated that the aim of his visit was to introduce himself and solicit support and cooperation of the journalists in the state.
He said that the importance of media to the society could never be over emphasised.
He indicated that media and government were partners in progress, and therefore have to work hand in hand towards the development of the state and the country at large.
The new SA also said his door was open at all for verification and advice, and promised to cooperate with the journalists and carry everybody along.
In his response, the chairman of the Jigawa State NUJ, Comrade Ahmed Abubakar promised to work with the new S.A in accordance with the ethics of the profession.
