Legendary Juju musician, Sir Shina Peters has recorded a song with self-styled Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya.
Although the title of the song has not been revealed, Timaya himself shared the news with his fans via Instagram.
He said, “I grew up listening to Sir Shina Peters, and right now I’m in the studio making music with him. Definition of blessing. Respect boss.”
Sources reveal that fast rising producer, Young D, who has worked with Timaya previously on tracks like ‘Illuminati’, ‘Ekoloma Demba’, produced the song.
SSP shot into limelight in 1989, when his band, ‘Sir Shina Peters & His International Stars,’ released their widely acclaimed maiden album, ‘Ace.’
The album went double platinum and was the career breakthrough which catapulted Sir Shina Peters to global recognition.
‘Ace’ was a musical fusion between Juju and Afro beat; a rhythmic collaboration which pierced Ethnic, Cultural and language barriers in Nigeria.
Timaya, on the other hand, shot into national reckoning with his debut album, ‘True Story’, which topped charts from Port-harcourt down to Lagos. the album contains hits like ‘Dem Mama’, Ogologoma’,’Pomporo’, and many others.
