There was tension yesterday in Bokkos local government area of Plateau state following the killing of a student of the Plateau State University, now Solomon Lar University, by unknown gunmen.

Our reporter gathered that three students were shot late Monday night around their hostel premises resulting in the death of them from gunshots wounds, while the two others are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

A student, who spoke to Nigerian Pilot anonymously, said immediately the news broke out, the students of the school yesterday morning, took to the streets to protest the attack.

The source further said the students destroyed the check points of men of the Special Task force close to the school.

Nigerian Pilot also gathered that vehicular movements around the town came to a halt as a result of the protest for hours.

Efforts to get the public relations officer of PLASU, Mr. John Agams, to speak on the development failed as his mobile phone was switched off as at the time of filling this report.
