Arising from unwillingness of countries to domesticate treaties signed, the West African Civil Society Forum, WACSOF, has embarked on an enlightenment programme to empower the citizenry on their rights and how to hold government accountable.
WACSOF general secretary, Mr. Abdoulaye Diallo gave the hint while addressing a press briefing in Abuja to mark the launch of the Project: “Ensuring Rights-Based, Pro-Poor Governance in West Africa through Sustained Ratification and Domestication of International Legal and Policy Frameworks”.
According to Diallo, the programme which is expected to ensure development of the sub region through good governance, protection of human rights, and gender equity and participation, is driven in partnership with Oxfam.
