Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has convened a security council meeting to deliberate on the unfortunate tragedy of the discovery of a kidnappers’ den at the Soka area of the state capital.
In a release issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Festus Adedayo, the governor is convening the meeting to review the state of security in the state aftermath of the tragic discovery.
According to the release, the meeting which will take place on Tuesday will review the incidents that have happened in the state since the unfortunate tragedy and assess the security preparedness of the security agencies in the state to curtail its aftermath.
The statement said that the state government was bothered about the incidences of summary apprehending of mentally challenged persons in the state capital and the resort to jungle justice on them from some people in the state capital.
It will be recalled that in the wake of the discovery of a kidnappers’ den at the Soka area of the state capital, mentally challenged persons roaming the streets have been at the mercies of a lynch mob who accused them of being facades of ritual killings.
