Former Super Eagles Captain Peter Rufai, has kicked against Coach Stephen Keshi inviting new players to test out in the run to the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

The former national team goal keeper said it will be detrimental to start inviting new players to jostle for places in the final Eagles squad for the fast approaching Mundial.

“I don’t expect Coach Keshi to be inviting new players now, I believe that it is too late for that, for now they are supposed to be trying out workable strategies with the players they already know not trying to discover new players. If they are just trying to discover new players they want to use for the World Cup, then it means they have not been working all the while.”

Regardless of the submission of his former national teammate, Coach Keshi has hinted that there could be surprises in his team list that he will unveil next week for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The Big Boss said that he will not hesitate to call up any player that would make a meaningful impact in his squad to the tournament.

“If I see any good additional player that can give us something new, I will bring him in. We are still building and if we have one or two players that are playing really well than the ones we have right now; I will change and bring them in.”

In Brazil, Nigeria will be campaigning in Group F first against Iran, Bosnia and Argentina.

The Super Eagles will play a series of international friendly games to prepare for the tournament, starting with a match against Scotland before proceeding to face Greece and USA.
