…25 injured still in hospitals
Sequel to the first and second bomb blasts incidences which occurred in Abuja, some unclaimed dead bodies are still remain in hospital mortuaries in the capital city.
Investigations carried out by Nigerian Pilot Saturday in various hospitals where the bodies and victims were taken, revealed that there are some unclaimed bodies still in their morgues.
At the Maitama District Hospital, the HOD, Nurses Department, Nma Ndanusa, speaking on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Toun Oshotimehin, told Nigerian Pilot Saturday that there were four unclaimed bodies of the victims in the hospital to and two victims still receiving treatment.
At the Wuse General Hospital, the Hospital Secretary, Tobi Joel, said that there were three unclaimed bodies in the morgue and four patients still on treatment.
Joel said it was not true that families were not allowed to claim their bodies, but that the Police must give clearance before the hospital could make such release.
He said, “When they come for the bodies, we ask them to go to the Police Force Headquarters to get a form which they must fill. The hospital must see the forms before handing over the bodies.
At the National Hospital, the Head, Communication and Public Relations, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, confirmed that there were nine unclaimed bodies and 19 people still on admission receiving treatment.
Chief Medical Director of Asokoro District Hospital, Dr. Amodu Abubakar, said the hospital still has six unclaimed bodies and 19 victims were still in the ward receiving treatment.
He said that all bodies with police certification had been released, adding that government had been responsible for the purchase of all medical items and all bills.
