The National leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, yesterday declared that regrettably Nigeria cannot survive another four years under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP controlled Presidency.
The party which just lost Ekiti, one of its key southwest states in a gubernatorial election to the PDP hinged it’s declaration on what it described as the failure of the PDP government to curb insecurity, end the army of unemployed youths, restore constant power, impunity and corruption in th country posited that the only way out of the nation’s ills is for the Nigerian to give the APC a chance to effect the desired change in 2015.
The National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun who is the first civilian governor of Edo state in a media chat with Journalists in Benin City also accused that PDP of taking the nation for granted adding that they have “become that unquestionable disaster afflicting the nation, it is to show them that we have a choice to try something different”
While calling on Nigerians to embrace APC, he said “We are presenting our party as new, as different, and we have done the studies as people who truly care. There is no way we can prove it to you because we have not ever rule this country but we can tell you, look at our states. We are not pretending to be angels; politics is not a seminary nor is it the papacy but what is important is what are you doing with the lives of the people, that is what is critical.”
He said, “The PDP don’t care anymore what the people thinks , they fix the votes , they put themselves in power and rule us with impunity , it is now for Nigerians to decide whether they want to continue in that condition where nothing is working”.
According to Oyegun, “We must vote for change. We are presenting the state APC governs as sign post. If what you see in Abuja, Oshiomhole can do it in Edo with little resources in a country where ministers have two jets, fuel subsidy issue has disappear from public discourse kidnapped girls is already disappearing, bombs going off and on, like a normal thing. We are presenting our party as a different party.”
