Two persons, whose identities were yet to be ascertained, were killed at the weekend around 8.30pm in different attacks by people suspected to be members of the cult group in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area in Ondo State.
It was however gathered from two different sources that one of the victims had gone to relax at the centre at Iparuku area in the town.
It was further learnt that when they were at the joint, an argument was said to have ensured between members of the suspected cult group, which was later said to have resulted into pandemonium, during which gun and other dangerous weapons were fully used, the milieu which was said to have lasted for some minutes later resulted to the death of one of the victims.
According to another version of the story, one of the victims was said to have been in his house located at the New Town area in the community, sleeping before he was said to have been lured out of the house by a lady and was later shot by an unknown assailants, who was said to have laid ambush for him outside.
Meanwhile, the news of the death of the two persons has continued to generate reactions in the town.
When our correspondent visited the Ondo State Specialist hospital morgue, where the bodies of the victims were deposited, sympathisers were seen hanging around in group discussing the development in harsh tone.
Similarly, several policemen from the Anti-Robbery Section of the Enuowa Police station were seen patrolling the premises of the mortuary following a rumor that some groups want to invade the mortuary to take away the remains of the two persons.
