A book chronicling the journey of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the political dispensation of Nigeria will soon be presented to the Nigerian reading public.

The hint was given yesterday by the planning committee of the book titled Dynamics of the PDP, when it paid a courtesy visit to Alhaji Sagir Hamidu to intimate him on the plans to present the book to the public and also applaud him for his inestimable contribution to the development of the party and the Nigerian youths.

The book is written by Arc. Amdii Amdii.

Responding, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu, a frontline member of the party in Zamfara and the national level, stated that the initiative of the author to chronicle the strides of the party for generations yet unborn had given him confidence that the party had enough human potential to continue to provide good governance for the country.

He said it was the first time a literature is written about a political party to sufficiently document its journey, highlighting roles played by individuals and groups in developing the party that has become a model of democracy in Africa and beyond.

Alhaji Hamidu expressed optimism that the book when available in libraries, would afford people the opportunity to read and appreciate the philosophy of the party, adding that it would also correct erroneous impressions certain persons have expressed of the party.

While calling on youths to shun violence, he charged more youths to take a cue from the author and write on several other aspects of the party.

He congratulated President Jonathan for his endorsement as the sole candidate of the PDP, saying it was an indication they all appreciate his genuine concern to move the nation forward.

He also commended the national chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, for his leadership style that has made the party an envy of all.

Earlier, national chairman, planning committee of the book presentation committee, Hon. Solomon Gowin Bamola told Alhaji Hamidu that the committee had taken congnisance of his developmental programmes for youths.
