Benue 2015: MINDA prunes guber aspirants to 4

At last, elders of Peoples Democratic Party in MINDA axis of Benue State have pruned the number of governorship aspirants in the area from 21 to four.

Nigerian Pilot Sunday that the party elders who met yesterday in Makurdi, the state capital to strategise on the forthcoming 2015 governorship election which the axis is battling with the Idoma people decided to cut down the number of aspirants in order to have a smooth sail in the forthcoming primaries.

It was further learnt that the meeting by party elders in MINDA ratified three aspirants already approved by the Tiv traditional council and replaced the fourth with another aspirant who was said not to have met the party guidelines, one of which is the period required to be a member of the party before declaring intention.
Those anointed according to sources include; outgoing minister of state for Trade, Industry and Investment, Chief Samuel Ortom, former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor, former registrar of Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria, COREN, Eng. Felix Atume and former Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Alex Adum. 

The four lucky aspirants have been asked to go ahead and obtain their expression of intention and nomination forms.
Chief Ortom who also commented on the new development said that he was on his way to procure his nomination form.
