“Good morning #BdaySurpriseGettaway,” Kim Kardashian shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, October 22, along with a gorgeous view from her hotel of palm trees and the ocean.
Kim and her hubby, Kanye West enjoyed breakfast with one another at their hotel to celebrate the star’s big day on October 21.
Last year, Kardashian got the birthday present of a lifetime – a proposal and giant Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring from West; this year, it is a surprise getaway.
And to mark Kanye West’s wife’s big day, we’re taking a trip down memory lane and looking back at star’s most memorable moments:
1. The belfie
North West’s mum is queen of the selfie, so it only made sense for her to invent her very own version of the snap – introducing the belfie. Hitting back at the weight haters after giving birth, Kimmy-K shared the now famous snap of her pert derrière as a way of putting a ‘big middle finger up to everyone that called me fat’.
2. The engagement
When Kanye West decided to propose to his reality star girlfriend, he wasn’t going to do anything by half.
Hiring out an entire restaurant or hotel wasn’t elaborate enough for the Yeezus rapper, oh no, he took over an entire baseball stadium in San Francisco to pop the question. Lucky she said yes.
3. The wedding
When Kimye tied the knot back in May, it was always going to be an elaborate affair. After getting hitched in a lavish ceremony in Florence, Italy, the celeb couple shared intimate snaps from their big day – including a stunning shot of Kim’s incredible Givenchy gown.
4. The battle of the cleavage
The photo that engulfed everything else at Paris Fashion Week 2014 – the Kimye cleavage snap. Kris Jenner’s daughter was almost – almost – upstaged by her hubby when Kanye initiated a cleavage-off as they sat front row at the Lanvin SS15 show.
5. Kim and Nicole Richie #tbt
Who would have guessed Kim was such a snap happy teenager? Well, everyone probably. And so was Nicole Richie, apparently. Earlier this year, the mum-of-one shared this adorable throwback snap of the old pals posing together alongside the caption: “#ThrowbackThursday @nicolerichie and I being oh so cool at 13 years old.”
6. The Vampire Facial
The controversial Halloween-esque snap that got everyone talking. In an attempt to keep her skin ‘looking and feeling youthful’ Kimmy went to the great lengths of extracting blood from her own arm before having it spread across her face using acupuncture like needles in a bid to boost collagen production and smooth out any wrinkles – and unnecessarily shared the results with the world.
7. The Playboy cover
In 2007, Kim stripped off for Playboy for a shoot that, let’s just say, wasn’t quite as classy as her Vogue cover. But it all went t*ts-up when a few fully naked never-before-seen pictures leaked online.
8. The GQ cover
Kim must have found a new level of confidence after appearing in Playboy because she then went on to pose fully naked for GQ Magazine last month. Showing off her infamous assets, Khloe Kardashian’s sister posed with just a pair of pink heels and a sultry expression.
9. Those crying faces
As cruel as it is, Kim has one of the best crying faces in the business. So good, in fact, that we’ve had to dedicate four photos to her sobs.
