Super Eagles and Lille FC of France goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama has called on the Confederation of African Football, CAF to postpone next year’s Africa Cup of Nations Cup on account of the Ebola scourge.
Enyeama, who plays for Lille of France made this assertions after a Europa League clash with Everton of England.
“I really wish it doesn’t happen with all the people that will be moving around,” he told Daily Mail.
“But I’m not CAF. I’m not the one who calls the shots,” he added. Nigeria is struggling to qualify for Africa’s showpiece tournament as they currently sit third in Group A.
“It’s risky for everyone because when you go to Africa, everyone wants to shake and hug you, what can you do? You’re at risk. But if it the date is not changed, I will play, if we qualify,” he concluded. CAF is currently looking for an alternative venue to Morocco, until the Ebola virus has been properly contained.
