A group operating under the aegis of Plateau Youth Patriotic Front, PYPF, has petitioned the Plateau State Police command over some politicians’ inciting utterances, warning that the statements could spell danger to the state if left unchecked.
The youth group particularly singled out the utterances of the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prof Dakum Shown which they described as inciting and injurious to the on-going electioneering campaigns in the state.
“We wish to bring to your attention some inciting statements by Prof Dakum Shown, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who has constituted a group known as the PDP Equity and Justice Forum, made up of some individuals who claim to be elders of the PDP in Plateau State,” a statement by PYPF President, Leo Sage Demsak, said.
According to the statement, “As much as the Forum has the right to agree or disagree with the party on any matter, we are concerned because the group is taking it personal and too far, to the extent that the polity is being unnecessarily overheated .”
