NUJ mourns member

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Kwara State Chapter, has described the death of its Assistant Secretary, Mr. Olusola Owolabi, as shocking and a colossal loss.

Mr. Owolabi, who worked with the Kwara State bureau of NAN, as a correspondent, died in an automobile accident within the Ilorin metropolis on Sunday evening, July 21, 2013,

In a press statement issued yesterday and signed by the Union chairman and secretary, Comrade Layi Olanrewaju and Biola Azeez respectively, the chapel condoled with the family of the departed colleague on the irreparable loss.

The chapel described Mr. Owolabi as dutiful, hardworking and enterprising member, and prayed God to serve as fortress to the family left behind by the late journalist.

The Chapel urged the family of the late journalist to take solace in God and in the remarkable achievements recorded by Mr. Owolabi while alive.

It also said that a condolence register has been opened at the secretariat of the chapel at 25, Murtala Mohammed Way, Ilorin, the remains of the deceased has been laid to rest.
