Wike to Amaechi: Respond to corruption allegations against your administration

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike has urged the Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi to respond to corruption allegations against him, instead of beating about the bush.
Wike was responding to a press statement issued by Governor Amaechi, where the governor alleged that Wike was paying the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan one million US Dollars monthly.
According to a statement issued by Simeon Nwakudu, Wike’s media aide, “this allegation is completely false and simply aimed at diverting the attention of the public from the monumental corruption under Amaechi’s leadership. Barrister Wike has always been an upright administrator and politician who is committed to the development of Rivers State and Nigeria.
“Barrister Wike has published documents of mass corruption in Government House, Port Harcourt and the entire Rivers State Government under the guidance of Amaechi. The outgoing governor should respond to these documented proofs of corruption, rather than cooking up false allegations to distract attention.
“Amaechi has wasted over N3trillion that have accrued to Rivers State which a large percentage of the funds being expended on the sponsorship of APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhuri and the APC.
“Amaechi has also sold state assets to himself and his associates. His stooge, the APC governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside was Commissioner for Works when several billion naira projects were abandoned, even when Amaechi fully paid upfront for such failed projects. We maintain as always, Rotimi Amaechi is the most corrupt governor Nigeria has ever seen.”
Wike also accused Governor Amaechi of being behind the incessant cult related killings in Rivers state and called on security agencies to beam their search lights on APC leaders in the state.
“The APC led by Amaechi has entrenched political violence by releasing known cultists and suspected killers for the elections. Over 45 PDP members have lost their lives due to the APC inspired violence. We call on security agencies to beam their searchlights on APC leaders as their desperation is responsible for the political violence in the state.”
