Social Democratic Party, SDP governorship candidate in Taraba state, Chief David Sabo Kente has raised alarm over repeated threats to his life by his political opponents in the state.
Addressing journalists in Jalingo, the SDP governorship candidate informed that his political opponents have made several attempts on his life but God has not allowed them to succeed. “They have been planning violence”, Kente lamented.
According to him, God would not allow anybody to succeed in any attempt against his life even as he stressed that he was not against anybody in the race but only interested in getting the mandate of his people to provide good governance.
Kente who insisted that there was no intimidation that could make him withdraw from the governorship race noted that all forms of intimidations have rather strengthened him to continue with the project.
The SDP governorship candidate who told journalists that he had never contemplated withdrawing from the governorship race, insisted that it was part of the game plan by his political opponents to blackmail him.
On the issue of endorsement, the gubernatorial candidate explained that the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Taraba state chapter did not have to go into endorsement as he revealed that it was capable of causing disaffection in the church.
He however revealed that the CAN secretariat of the association has dissociated itself from the purported endorsement as the letters of endorsement as he explained were not from the secretariat of CAN. He appealed to all Taraba people to disregard the endorsement and work for his victory.
