Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III yesterday assured Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, of his fatherly advice at all time.
The royal father said this when he received the new governor who paid him courtesy call at his palace on Tuesday.
He said as a father who watches over the society, even though he has no role to play in the Nigerian constitution, but his wisdom is much needed, saying much had to be done to move the state and country to a greater height.
“You need to seek advice from us at all time; seeking advice is one of the major qualities of a good leader,” the Sultan advised.
He also praised the smooth transition that took place between the past and present governments while assuring that the sultanate would give his own advice in order to achieve the desirable objectives.
To this end, the Sultan prayed for the governor, his mission and also efforts in transforming the state to a greater height.
In his respond, Governor Tambuwal said he was at the palace to thank the Sultan for all he had done for him.
