Assorted relief materials were donated by concerned citizens under the aegis of Bachama Unity Club, Kaduna branch to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, at Malkohi camp in Yola.
Items donated yesterday included 50 bags of rice, 100 cartons of indomie and 30 cartons of bar soap among others.
Presenting the items, the chairman of the club, Chief Peter Clement (Raw Bachama) said the gesture was meant to alleviate the lingering suffering the IDP’s were facing since their displacement from their communities.
He noted that the group was similarly strategizing to see how it could sustain the effort in order to continue to affect the lives of the IDP’s in the future just as he promised that they will never relent in giving succour to them until all of the IDP’s relocate back to their various communities.
Appreciating the gesture, Malkohi camp manager, Zakari Abubakar said it will go a long way in bringing relief to the IDP’s adding that the materials will be judiciously distributed to the in all fairness.
In his remark, chairman of Malkohi IDP’s Forum, Nicholas Samuel thanked the organizers of the club for coming such long distance for their aid at such a critical time in their lives, praying God to reward them abundantly.
