President Goodluck Jonathan has warned youths in the country, especially students to desist from joining any illegal group that specialise in fomenting trouble among various groups in the country.

President Jonathan made the remarks recently during the Ramadan fast break/ dinner organised for youth and students leaders of the North-East zone held at the Government House Bauchi.

President Jonathan was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Youth and Students Matters, Comrade Jude Imagwe where he cautioned youth and students of the northern part of the country to desist from joining any illegal group or gang that brings unrest in the society considering that they have a brighter future ahead.

He explained that all the present security challenges facing the country such as insurgents, kidnap, armed bandits and political thugs are perpetrated by the youths, warning that unless youths change their attitude by doing away with all negative immorality and by shunning negative vices and become patriotic citizens of the society, they would hardly become good leaders of tomorrow.

President Jonathan stated that in view of the seriousness of his administration towards empowering youths, he ensured the creation of office of the SSA on youth and students matters aimed at benefitting from numerous programmes introduced for the youths, such as “YOU WIN” just to provide them with jobs opportunities.
