Bayelsa Govt to invest N1.17bn on aquaculture

The Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliyu Barkindo Musdafa has called on the people of the state to eschew acts that are capable of disrupting peace in the state.

The royal father who stated this when he paid Sallah homage to the State Governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako, rtd, explained that for the state to achieve meaningful development, the people, politicians alike must exhibit the fear of God in their day to day activities.

“The people of the state must shun every form of violence. Political violence or whatever you may call it, is not good for the country especially when it is being promoted by the leaders”, he declared.

The Lamido who also observed that those who foment trouble because of the level of protection they enjoy, would no doubt be consumed by their handwork, also reminded leaders in the country that leadership positions are ordained by God and not because of the  physical attributes or level of education acquired by an individual or group of persons.

“Politicians should not promote violence because of their vantage positions in the society. No religion preaches violence and whoever perpetrate violence will surely be consumed by it, irrespective of his position in the society as Allah who gives power to man does not base His judgement on physical attributes or level of one’s education”, he said.

The Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Isa Abubakar has also reassured the state governor of the determination of his council to work towards sustenance of peace in the state.

Alhaji Abubakar who commended the state government for its giant strides, however urged the State Governor to redeploy medical practitioners to the emirate to cushion the effect of high cost of medical bills suffered by the people.

In his response, Gov. Murtala Nyako commended the Lamido of Adamawa for his efforts in ensuring an enduring peace in the state.

He also disclosed that the state government will soon embark on the construction of roads and other bye-pass within Mubi emirate council adding that those whose structures would be affected by demolition exercise will be given minimal compensation by the state government.

Gov. Nyako also urged the traditional rulers to sustain the peaceful coexistence in their domains, stressing that the state government will not relent in carrying out developmental projects that would have positive impacts on the lives of the people despite criticisms from oppositions.
