West Bromwich Albion FC striker Victor Anichebe could still represent Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil according to Coach Stephen Keshi.
Keshi said in an interview that the striker still had a chance to stake a claim in the team once he affirms his willingness to play.
“You asked if I would consider Anichebe to vie for a place in the Eagles final list for the World Cup; it is Anichebe who chose not to play for Nigeria at a point in time, so if he decides he is ready to play, why not.
“If he calls me today that he wants to play for the Eagles again, of course, I would give him a chance to prove himself and possibly go to the World Cup in Brazil next year, “said Keshi.
Anichebe has not played for Nigeria since been ruled out of the 2010 World Cup due to injury. Since then he has decided to put his club career ahead of national team duty.
