Much sought after Golden Eaglets’ star, Kelechi Iheanacho, may have finally resolved to join English Premier League giants, Manchester City.

The father of the UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup Most Valuable Player, James Iheanacho, speaking on a Pay TV network phone-in programme, hinted that the Iheanacho family has agreed to allow the whiz kid put pen to paper for the Etihad side.

His words: “We have gotten several offers for him but we want him to join Manchester City because he is going to be a great player at the Etihad.

“Some group of agents also wanted to force him to sign for FC Porto but we chased them away because we don’t want such deal for him.

“He (Iheanacho) is a young boy and should be guided through at this stage of his career.

“We held a discussion with him and the family member has agreed on Manchester City and that is where my son will be going.”

Iheanacho’s father however said that there is no iota of truth in the report that he puts the player’s value at £1 million, saying that it was a rumour, which emanated from his enemies.

He said: “I don’t know where such stories are from because I have not at any time discussed Kelechi’s value with anyone. I believe my enemies and that of the boy are at work.”

Before now, top European clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Monaco and ArsenaI were in pursuit of the Taye Academy of Warri player’s signature.

Iheanacho’s inspirational performance at the tournament ensured that the Golden Eaglets won the trophy for a record fourth time with the youngster scoring six goals while he also scored an amazing four goals in the opening match against Mexico.
