Niger Delta Indigenous Movement for Radical Change, NDIMRC, yesterday condemned the All Progressives Congress, APC’s penchant for raining abuses on the person of President Goodluck Jonathan.
It said the party’s attitude was like that of a child rejected by its mother.
In a statement, the group’s President, Nelly Emma, Secretary, John Sailor, and Public Relations Officer, Stanley Mukoro, said they had watched with dismay the barrage of APC insults of the President and described the action of the party and its leaders as unfortunate.
Describing APC as, “dead on arrival” with nothing new to offer Nigerians other than criticising the good works of the President, the group said Nigerians cannot entrust power to a party of political liabilities and called on the people to support the President’s re-election bid in 2015 because of his transformation agenda.
“APC must accord the President the desired respect. We are not going to accept any insult on the President again from APC. President Jonathan will not be distracted by the empty criticisms of APC…he is committed to the building of a united Nigeria and he will not relent in his drive to transform the nation’s social, economic and political landscape.”
Meanwhile, the group has opposed recent calls by the APC for the President to sack the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and argued that it was the same ploy adopted in hunting down a hardworking former Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah.
It said there is no truth in the allegation that the minister deployed public funds to hire a private jet, and said the allegation has political undertones and part of a game plan to force the Minister out of office over the 2015 re-election bid of the President.
