Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Rivers State Chapter, has described as false and misleading claims in some sections of the media that the Minister of State for Education, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has resigned his appointment as Minister and member of the Federal Executive Council.

The PDP Chairman, Bro Obuah, cleared the air in Port Harcourt in reaction to what he described as misleading and spurious information published in a daily newspaper stating that Wike had resigned his position.

“The Leader of the PDP in Rivers State and Minister of State for Education, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has not resigned. He is still a Minister and a member of the Federal Executive Council. Therefore, the publication is completely false and misleading”, the PDP Chairman, Bro Felix Obuah disclosed in a terse press statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam.

The PDP therefore called on the people of the State and the general public not to take the said publication seriously as it lacked all elements of facts and truth.
