Rangers forward, Oasagona Ighodaro who is currently leading on the scorers chart with 13 goals in the Glo Premier League, has declared that he wants to break Jude Aneke”s record of 20 goals.
Aneke surpassed Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa’s 18 goal record to score 20 goals four season’s ago.
Osagona who last season played for Shooting Stars Sports Club, told FCNaija.com from Enugu that he will do within his power to set a new record in the Glo Premier League.
“I have scored 13 goals and my wish and ambition is to surpass Jude Aneke’s record of 20 goals. We have 14 matches to go and I believe I can do it.
“At the beginning of the season, I just told myself that I want to play football and enjoy myself, while also contributing to make Rangers the best this season.
“When I started scoring, I told myself that there is every possibility that I can do and I have intensified training to make it a reality.
“I know it is possible if I put my mind to it and I will pursue it with everything I’ve got,” Osagona said.
Rangers Captain, Cyril Oriaku noted that it is possible for Osagona to break the record.
“He is a hard working player and I know that he can break the record. He is a good player who knows what he wants in every game.
“We are going to support him as much as we can because any goal he scores, helps the team,” Oriaku revealed.
Rangers are placed 15th on the log with 31 points.
