Ex broadcaster, Emma Ugolee’s dream of seeing celebrities walk on Lagos street for the cause of Kidney disease came alive recently when celebrities which included Desmond Eliot, Monalisa Chinda, Julius Agwu, Audu Maikori, Yaw, Bovi, AY, Bobby Michaels, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Mode 9, Funny bone, Senator, Praiz, Sound Sultan and many more joined him for the rally in Lagos.
Kidney patients from across Lagos, Medical personnel, the Media and well wishers kicked off the event at 8:00am with light music and a general intermingling of attendees.
The anchor, radio personality and actor on Tinsel, Justice Atigogo smoothly linked the various segments of the event, beginning with the Doctors who told everyone most of what they needed to know about the Kidney disease.
Consultant Nephrologist, Dr. Adewunmi in particular spoke on the need for personal awareness and medical checkups. Patients who are suffering from the disease also spoke to the crowd. One speaker remembered late Chaz B of whom she was a great fan while trying hard to contain herself.
The microphone also got to those who had gotten a chance to donate to kidney to someone in the past.
A very emotionally charged environment at this point was addressed by the celebrities who assured the crowd that they would do all they can to add their voices to the awareness.
Speaking on behalf of other celebrities, Audu, Monalisa, Ebuka and Desmond assured of their support and love for both Emmanuel Ugolee and course.
