Kogi State governor’s wife, Faridah
Wada has called on the media
to support non-governmen-
Wada Foundation, FWF, an NGO
based in Abuja.
Mrs Wada, who is chief executive
of FWF, also urged the Nigerian
mass media to rise up to the
tal organisations with a view to
creating awareness on the activities
of such organisations.
She stated this during the one
year anniversary of Faridah
challenge for development by
supporting non-profit institutions,
and also decried the slow
pace of development in the rural
communities in Nigeria which
she blamed on the absence of
proper communication channels.
“So much work is going on in
several communities in Nigeria
but little or nothing is done to
promote such efforts. It was the
social responsibility of the mass
media to ensure that such efforts
do not go un-noticed”, she
added.
Explaining the essence of the
organisation, Mrs. Wada said
that those societies must be assisted
for the world to become a
better place for all.
“We have volunteered to become
an active partner for
change and for the survival of
humanity.”
As a way of giving to the society,
donations were made to three
orphanage homes which include
Talitha Koum Orphanage Home.
Nyanya, Hope for Survival Orphanage
Home, Gishiri, both in
Abuja and Alpha and Omega Orphanage,
Mararaba, Nasarawa
State.
FWF was born out of the desire
to be involved in the 21st century
development work of providing

of people and communities in
Nigeria and beyond in
